About

The Leadership Intensive invites Arizona high school juniors and seniors to reflect on the story they want to tell with their lives and the legacy they hope to share.

Equipped with leadership skills, strategies, and resources, students embark on a four-part program that transforms their passions and skills into high-impact leadership projects they can call their own.

Guided by expert mentorship and a supportive cohort, students emerge with strategic leadership skills and a tangible project demonstrating excellence to be leveraged in applications for college, scholarships, internships, and beyond.

Core Four Program Elements

  • The foundational element of the Leadership Intensive asks students to reflect on their values, aspirations, and the impact they want to make in the world.

Through introspective exercises and discussions, students explore their unique talents and interests, envisioning how they can leverage these strengths to create meaningful change.

In this phase, students engage in storytelling activities to craft a compelling narrative around their future goals and the legacy they hope to leave in their chosen field.

Whether they aspire to be a groundbreaking scientist, a visionary entrepreneur, a transformative artist, or a champion for social justice, students articulate the kind of leader they want to become and the story they want others to tell about their contributions.

This forward-looking self-discovery process helps students develop clarity, confidence, and purpose as they embark on their leadership journey.

  • Transforming ideas into action is at the heart of leadership. In the second element, students apply their insights from the discovery phase to design and implement a tangible project that showcases their skills and vision.

This hands-on experience challenges students to think creatively, plan strategically, and execute effectively—key competencies for any leadership role.

Guided by the program mentor, students choose a project that aligns with their interests and goals, such as conducting a scientific study, developing a community outreach program, coding an innovative app, or creating a thought-provoking short story.

The final product serves as a powerful portfolio piece and a testament to their ability to lead and execute. Through this immersive process, students gain practical experience in project management, creative problem-solving, and resilience—skills that will differentiate them in college and beyond.

  • Effective leaders know how to share their story and inspire others to support their vision. In the third element, the program mentor works closely with each student and their parents to develop a personalized Recognition Campaign that showcases their Impact Asset and unique leadership journey to the world.

The mentor identifies and helps the student pursue a wide range of opportunities to gain visibility and recognition for their work.

This may include submitting their project to relevant publications, conferences, and competitions; applying for prestigious scholarships and internships in their field of interest; seeking partnerships with community organizations or corporations; or pitching their story to local news outlets and national platforms like ‘20-under-20’ awards.

This campaign helps students learn how to effectively communicate their achievements, build relationships with influential stakeholders, and establish themselves as emerging leaders in their chosen domain.

  • The fourth and final element serves as the capstone of the Leadership Intensive, providing a platform for students to share their story, Impact Asset, and learnings with an engaged audience of family and friends.

Through the Impact Symposium, students deliver a compelling presentation that highlights their growth, project, and vision for the future.

This experience allows students to reflect on their journey, celebrate their achievements, and practice articulating their story in an inspiring way.

By sharing their insights and passion with others, students reinforce their own sense of purpose and potential as leaders.

This showcase ultimately serves as a launchpad for the next chapter of their leadership journey, setting the stage for continued impact in college and beyond.
